Our software product is in wide use at SibNeft subsidiary NoyabrskNefteGaz.
Databank we have developed holds information about 14,000 wells (the number includes all types of wells).
It is likely to be a record
in oil & gas industry practice! Data about all those wells since the very beginning
of exploitation may be stored at the notebook with 2-Gbyte hard disk!
Development milestones are following:
1992 - software tools for input, storage and graphical display of geological and
geophysical information.
By means of this package all data that had been previously accumulated since exploitation outset
were input to the databank.
As far as we know, it is a unique result. It allowed gathered information to be saved with minimal
losses. At other corporations those materials were either completely lost or are digitized
again, the latter being quite expensive process. Now all the saved data are incorporated
into integrated databank VISCOM+ and in a wide use.
1993 - integration with third-party software tools that had been already used at the corporation.

1994-1995 - development of structure and support tools for integrated databank.
The databank was envisaged as a means to input, store, use, and export/import of all types
of data involved in production activities. The following arrangements were implemented:
- inventory of existing databases and software packages;
- determination of parameters set to be used in operative procedures and to be
stored in the databank;
- development of databank structure and standard interfaces to exchange data with
various application databases and software packages;
- development of databank usage technology with participation of corporation
specialists;
- tests of developed interfaces;
- extension of data types specification;
- development of new software tools to enhance data retrieval, processing, and results
display;
- development of techniques to solve a lot of particular application tasks.
Since 1996 - the databank maintenance.

By the year of 1996 basic software tools development had been accomplished in general.
Since then VISCOM+ functionalities have been allowing customers to integrate all the date they need
and providing efficient data access both in read-only and editing mode.
Now the databank VISCOM+ stores information about more than 13,500 corporation wells.

The software tools are currently in use at all major departments and at many sites.
Estimated number of advisable installations is measured be tens.
By now the package has been installed at 40-50 workplaces, 20-25 installations are
in active use.
We greatly appreciate that the package is directly used in practice by
various specialists: from site geologist up to head of corporation department.
It is instrumental to solve diverse tasks: from simple reference obtaining up to
profound analysis carried out by specialized laboratories.
